Should you take CoQ10?

In my search for the "complementary" to the truth, it seems necessary to explore the qualities of the last supplement issue hot: Coenzyme Q10. Everywhere I turn these days, I'm reading about the benefits ranging from anti-aging range for heart protection. But Coenzyme Q10 Is it right for you? Happy reading!

Firstly: the claims:

A rich source of antioxidants:
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), also known as ubiquinone, has been documented as a rich source of antioxidants. In many of the studies and articles I've read, CoQ10 is consistent thought to act in the same way that vitamin E does. In fact, CoQ10 is found in many studies to be much more effective than vitamin E to reduce cholesterol and the creation an optimal environment for cells to create energy. Other strong antioxidant qualities include: reducing the risk of heart disease and regulation blood pressure.

Stimulates Immune System:
CoQ10 has also proven to be an important component of immune system function. It inhibits bacteria and enhances immune function. It also increases the production of white blood cell. In many cases, when the body is deficient in CoQ10 (Which becomes more common as we age) the immune system is compromised. Supplementation can often counteract this.

Anti-aging qualities:
Studies also suggest the possibility of anti-aging effects of CoQ10. It has been shown to retard the aging process through its antioxidant properties. Antioxidants, as we know, to prevent "free radical" damage – the instability of the cells causes them to mutate unnecessarily creating all from sun damage and cancer. CoQ10 has also been noted to increase endurance during exercise and is currently being used as a therapy and investment for Alzheimer's.

Heart Health:
CoQ10 depletion has also been linked to hypertension. Therefore using supplemental CoQ10 currently as a natural remedy for lowering blood pressure. It is also recommended to reduce the risk of atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) and to prevent the oxidation of LDL cholesterol that causes plaque.

Oral Health:
Like green tea, coenzyme Q10 has been designed to promote oral health. CoQ10 is supposed – In many studies – To slow or halt periodontal disease. CoQ10 also protects the gums and heals damage from gingivitis and protects the teeth from caries.

Weight Loss:
Obesity can lead to a decrease in the production of CoQ10. Therefore, in many of the studies that found, CoQ10 supplementation was given to patients who are obese and patients seeking weight management.

The Bad News

What is the bad news? Not much. There seems no documented toxicity from supplementation with CoQ10. However, if you are pregnant or nursing mother would be the best not to take this supplement as long-term effects have not been registered. Some reports suggest CoQ10 will decrease the effectiveness of warfarin – a blood thinner, but there is no evidence to suggest that is decidedly so. Finally, the dose should not exceed 200 mg per day like this – in some cases – has been shown to cause diarrhea and nausea.

Questions about CoQ10 Others:
How CoQ10 is enough to reap the benefits? For best results (in the literature I consulted) 1, 30-60mg capsule up to three times a day is a safe dose when taken with meals. When choosing a supplement, it is important to ensure that the capsule is in the form CoQ10 is naturally dark yellow bright color.

In summary:
Again, according to this scientist, I would mark as well CoQ10 worthy of consideration. Do your homework, however. As with any change in your healthcare program, always consult your health care professional. If you are taking any other medications be sure to talk with your doctor or pharmacist about the possibility of interaction. Conduct your own research project. Here are some of the great resources to help you get started.
