Evening Primrose Oil
Should I continue to take Evening Primrose Oil until I get a LH surge on my Ovulation Predictor Strip ?
My ND said to take Evening Primrose Oil until day 14 of my cycle. Today is day 14 and I still have not gotten a positive OPK. Should I continue to take the Evening Primrose Oil until I get a positive LH surge on the OPK? Thanks,
Yes. It’s safe to take up until the day that you actually ovulate or receive a positive surge. If consumed in the luteal phase, the EPO could cause uterine contractions which might inhibit implantation or cause miscarriage. I am a faithful consumer of Evening Primrose Oil and I tend to ovulate on cycle day 17 or 18 so I take it up until cycle day 16 just to be safe.
