Dry Hair Symptoms

are these symptoms of menopause?
I am 46 years old and have noticed these symptoms heavy periods, mood swings but mostly depression, dry hair and skin, itchy skin, periods of insomnia could these be symptoms of menopause? i keep praying it comes soon because I’m done having kids and would like to be done with the period thing. also I have noticed because I have cystole and wear an incontinence pad that my outer labia gets real sore any suggestions on what it could be our how to keep it from coming back?
The symptoms you are having are probably what are called peri-menopause symptoms.
Unfortunately, these symptoms can last for a few years, as most women stop having periods at around 51 or 52. (That was my experience – I had these peri-menopause symptoms at around your age , but didn’t completely stop my periods until I was 52)
I am not too familiar with a cystocele – is that a fallen bladder? Did you not have it surgically repaired as of yet? some women going through menopause and because of having children can develop a fallen bladder -
A pessary can be used to help put the bladder in the proper position – sometimes hormone replacement therapy can strengthen the supporting structures.
It sounds as if the pad is what is causing the outer labia to be irritated – or it could be the leakage of urine that is irritating the labia -
Have you tried switching the brand of pads or you could try a 1% hydrocortisone ointment or cream – which may help the inflammation and soreness – also, maybe Vagisil might help.
Or you could ask your gynocologist for maybe a prescription anti-inflammatory ointment which may help the soreness.
Or check in with your gyno to see what may help with this situation.
Take Care and Good Luck!
